Matthew Reinhart (nacido el 21 de septiembre de 1971 en Cedar Rapids, Iowa) es un reconocido escritor e ilustrador estadounidense, especializado en libros desplegables para niños. Estudió diseño industrial con especialización en diseño de juguetes en el Pratt Institute de Brooklyn, Nueva York. Su colaboración con el autor Robert Sabuda lo llevó a descubrir su pasión por la ingeniería en papel, lo que lo impulsó a crear innovadores libros pop-up.

Entre sus obras más destacadas se encuentran: "Enciclopedia Prehistórica: Dinosaurios" (2005), "Enciclopedia Prehistórica: Tiburones y otras criaturas del mar" (2006), "Star Wars: Guía Pop-Up de la Galaxia" (2007) y "Enciclopedia Mitológica: Hadas y criaturas mágicas" (2008). Su libro "Mommy?" (2006), en colaboración con Maurice Sendak y Arthur Yorinks, recibió el premio Ragazzi de la Feria del Libro Infantil de Bolonia.
