This special re-print edition of Liberty Hyde Bailey's book "The State and the Farmer" is a look at the relationship between farmers and the government during the early 20th century. Written in 1911, this classic text was originally based on a lecture given by the famous horticultural expert, Liberty Hyde Bailey, to the Association of American Agricultural Colleges at Lansing, Michigan on May 28th, 1907. Five hundred copies of the lecture were printed, with the demand soon requiring not only another publication, but an expansion of the principles and topics covered.
