“The idea behind the book came as a result of a conversation I was having with a friend of mine. She had been through a really frustrating two-year renovation project and she simply said Troy, you need to do this. Trust me, people will welcome the opportunity to have less stress and save time and money while actually enjoy the process of building or renovating.” Turns out she was right. “People can’t be expected to understand all aspects of construction, yet when they build or renovate without an advocate they are put in a difficult position to do just that”. Troy believes his book and new service offering will be a welcomed approach not only for clients but builders as well “ I actually think builders will appreciate the book as a tool and my role as an advocate because it will help eliminate confusion, set realistic expectations and keep projects running on time and on budget, which ultimately leads to the best possible outcome for everyone”. Stallings also says his book can help ease stress and bring some fun back into the process. He acknowledges that most people are just too busy to really enjoy the journey. “It can get really stressful and things can fall apart fast”. He says having an advocate, someone who’s only job is to look out for you, changes the game. “Even if you have hired a reputable builder and designer, it never hurts to have an added layer of protection to make sure your best interests are being served”. According to Stallings “this book takes you on the journey of the build. It will help guide you in basic terms - its building and renovating made easier, who doesn’t want that”.
