Barry Buzan (nacido el 28 de abril de 1946 en Londres, Reino Unido) es un politólogo y académico británico, reconocido por sus contribuciones al estudio de las relaciones internacionales y la seguridad internacional. Es profesor emérito de Relaciones Internacionales en la London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) y miembro de la Academia Británica.

Se graduó en la Universidad de Columbia Británica en 1968 y obtuvo su doctorado en la London School of Economics en 1973. A lo largo de su carrera fue profesor en la Universidad de Warwick y en la Universidad de Westminster, además de dirigir proyectos de investigación en el Instituto de Investigación para la Paz de Copenhague.

Buzan es una figura destacada de la llamada Escuela de Copenhague, corriente académica que estudia la seguridad desde una perspectiva amplia.
