This book takes an integrated look at the father's role in breastfeeding, contextualizing it historically and exploring the concepts of paternity, parenthood, attachment and the transition to parenthood. It also addresses international initiatives to promote, protect and support breastfeeding, as well as the Portuguese reality, highlighting the importance of the intervention of health professionals. The book aims to contribute to valuing co-responsible parenting and promoting more equitable and sustainable care practices.
