The world famous tenor, Fabian Bauer, meets the beautiful Gabi Haas from Gottschee at the Woerthersee in Austria. It is love at first sight. When Gabi dies giving birth to their daughter, Stefanie, Fabian goes into shock and subsequently loses his beautiful voice. In this state of bitterness, he turns into a scrupulous businessman and acquires the ailing Trans Atlantic Global Airline, turning it into booming success within only a few years. Due to his ruthless personality, the only true friend he has left is the village Pastor Peter Weiler. Due to Fabian's depressive state, he forbids his daughter to ever put the word 'Mama' in her mouth again. Pastor Peter Weiler can no longer watch his friend's suffering or how he raises his daughter in a 'golden cage' and comes up with an ingenious plan. He invites both father and daughter to join the 'Gottscheer' group on a trip to Canada over the Christmas holidays. Fabian, having already accepted his fate, could not believe his luck when, in spite of initial difficulties, the attractive Tatjana and her mother lovingly take in Stefanie and treat her like one of their own. Stefanie, deliriously happy to have finally found a Mama, uses various tricks to bring her dad and Tatjana together. On Christmas day, disaster strikes. One of Fabian's airplanes crashes upon landing in the vicinity of Lima. This is the beginning of Fabian's unbelievable adventure in Peru where he experiences a race between life and death. Will he ever see his daughter and the woman who stole his heart, Tatjana, again?
