Marco Iansiti es profesor en la Harvard Business School, donde ocupa la cátedra David Sarnoff de Administración de Empresas. Dirige la Unidad de Tecnología y Operaciones y preside la Iniciativa Digital de la institución. Su investigación se centra en la estrategia tecnológica, la gestión de la innovación y la transformación digital de las empresas. Es también presidente del consejo de Keystone Strategy, una consultora especializada en estrategia y economía para clientes tecnológicos.
Entre sus obras más destacadas se encuentra Competing in the Age of AI: Strategy and Leadership When Algorithms and Networks Run the World (2020), coescrita con Karim R. Lakhani. También ha publicado One Strategy: Organization, Planning, and Decision Making (2009), en colaboración con Steven Sinofsky, y The Keystone Advantage: What the New Dynamics of Business Ecosystems Mean for Strategy, Innovation, and Sustainability (2004), junto a Roy Levien. Sus libros abordan temas de estrategia empresarial, innovación y transformación digital. ​
