Because of his passionate love for Clarissa, this relationship will present him with temptation, and cause him to sin, without regret. This flawed, but honorable man tries his best to protect his children, but he never finds out about some family secrets, including a violent attack on one of his children. One secret would have meant the world to Daniel, but it is bravely kept from him.
