He is on the editorial board of the projected standard history of Methodism and was invited to write the essay on John Wesley for the first volume. He is one of twelve Fellows of Methodist History of the International Methodist Historical Society. This is a study, therefore, by a recognized authority on Methodism, but written with an ease of style that will hold the attention of all who read it.
