Beauty as a concept is studied in the field of psychology and neuroscience. It has both objective as well as subjective aspects. Classical conceptions, hedonist conceptions and other conceptions are some of the conceptions of beauty. It is defined by the eye, or through perception. Evolutionary psychology holds that facial features can signal characteristics that indicate a person's quality as a partner, including qualities of health, genes and character. Structural qualities of the face, which can be attributed to the hormones, are one of the important factors in facial attractiveness. Indicators of maleness and femaleness are also considered to be indicators to an individual's health. The book aims to shed light on some of the unexplored aspects of the psychology of beauty.
