The objective of the study is to critically analyze and provide unanimous definition of criminal intent in criminal laws. Lack of judicial guidelines and general lack of clarity, obscurity and uncertainty that still exists as regards to the meaning of the concept of intention in the criminal law is a major cause for inconsistencies for judicial precedents and miscarriage of justices; and also loss of public trust in the criminal justice. An endeavor is made to divulge the problems and challenges associated with the modern definition of criminal intent. Thus the study used different methods of in the data collection. The methods included face to face interviews with lecturers and other legal experts to get their experience, knowledge and overview of modern criminal intent.The data were analyzed to get information on how best to achieve a unanimous definition of criminal intent. Thus included relevant decided cases, books, scholarly works, reports and other vitally important materials.The study found that a unanimous definition of criminal intent is achievable.
