Reseña del libro "Arabic Lexicon in Your Possession: Qamoos Al Arbiyatuh Bayna Yadaiyaik (en Inglés)"

This dictionary is an aid to the readers of Islamic academic works that are in Arabic. It includes most of the terminologies that are in usage to dwell with the Arabic Language. As a firm believer in the concept of speaking of languages, I found it extremely difficult to find any work's in Arabic, which are produced to meet the requirements of the non-native speakers of the Arabic language. Although works done in the past have covered the field of Islamic philosophy, like the "Qamoos Al Falsifah Al Islamiyah" and other compilers have done a great service to the cause, but these works are focused from a scholarly approach to the Arabic Language. This work is different in nature and does not include the Arabized names of the English Language terms such as algebra, cat and coffee. At times it only includes the Arabic terms of the nature of modern day usage and little else, as very little is known about them. Previously, the Arabic dictionary compilations have been based on philosophers and ideas that were erroneously attributed by the philosophers who worked in Arabic -Muslim and non-Muslim- and that is brought to light by including such terms used as per this era. Hence this work has been titled "Qamoos Al Arabiyahtuh Bayna Yadaik" (Arabic Lexicon in your posession) and is based on the work by a Researcher who considers himself a moral servant of Islam and a humble slave of Allah Subhanahu Wa Taa'laa. This work was researched, compiled and produced during my memorable stay of two years in Malaysia. The "Qamoos Al Arabiyahtuh Bayna Yadaik" primarily focuses on the needs of non-native speakers, writers and students of the Arabic Language. The need of such a work was realized by the compiler, on several occasions during interactions with the sophisticated student body of "The International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization (ISTAC)" located at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This dictionary will Insha'Allah be a first hand guide to all the students of knowledge, who desire to make Arabic a language of daily usage. At this juncture, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for Professor Dr. Sayyid Ajmal M. Razzak Al-Aidrus, whose passion, enthusiasm and love for the Arabic language, inspired me to compile this dictionary. A word of appreciation for Professor Dr.Hassan Naqar, whose Arabic skills help me a lot in researching on this topic. Last but not least, my applause to Professor Amir Hossein Zekrgoo in making me realize the importance of bilingualism during the course of my study at ISTAC.In the end, I would like to dedicate this work to the gallant student community of ISTAC. The hard work, dedication and sincerity employed by my colleagues in propagating the Islamic Contemporary Thought are phenomenal. I salute them for their meritorious contributions to this field. The love, affection and dedication bestowed on me during my stay by the multi lingual, cross cultural student body of ISTAC became the edifice of my work.Whatever good is being produced in this work is from Allah Subhanahu Wa Taa'laa, and whatever evil got developed is from the inner most evils of myself. May Allah Rab Ul Izzat, accept this humble effort from His incapable slave. I hope this will be an extremely beneficial data, especially for those who have a flare for learning Arabic. May Allah Subhanahu Wa Taa'laa, make all of us benefit from this data.Aa'meen. May this work act as a means of protection from the Hell fire for all those who participated, in compiling, publishing and distributing this work. Allahuma Aa'meen. Irfan Bin Sarwar Ali Thanvi, Kuala Lumpur: Friday, the 28th of Shawwal 1430 Hijrah.
