On the average, the yearly spend over US$17b recognises logistics operation of 30,000 people across six agencies, where 75percent are civilians. The registered asset worth across 80 international locations amounts US$41b. The core supply chain components for defence logistics comprised traditional tangible infrastructure of node linkages to complete a pipeline between factory and foxhole. Specific to the defence logistics supply chain: Information and battlespace awareness for the optimisation of troop performance, influences command and control that in return compels and dictates the ultimate combat behaviour. Command presupposes knowledge as a function of information and analysis and paves way for precise strike capability through the effective deployment of resources. This research examines to measure the Gap proximity to ideal Defence Logistics, using the case Operation Grandby/Desert Storm, as a historical marker to have advanced supply chain management solutions. Using survey methodology, the survey grading result finds GAPS of statistical significance arriving incredible improvements since Desert Storm: Adaptability and Expedient, Readiness and Fully Integrated.
