INTRODUCTION Coaching Institutes: Places of Distress Along-side Opportunity In India, a parallel system of education, known as coaching, plays an important role in the life of Indian students. This system has grown unexpectedly over the past few years and it starts from school to college. It is not mandatory to join a coaching class for every student; it's only a place where student can study in an organized way in detail and out of the syllabus. There are several benefits in joining coaching classes. For instance, it prepares for exam-oriented course, provides practice sets and suggestions. The mislead students can get right direction from coaching institutes. Students meet with subject's experts and come to know their own weakness regarding particular subjects. Coaching institute arranges specialists or expert teachers to advice for smart study with easy and quick tips. Apart from these, coaching facilities are available for these students who are capable and willing to pay heavy fees for this. However, the overall scenario around the country shows disadvantages of coaching centres. The cases of smoking, drug abuse, alcohol, stress, anxiety, depression, mal adjustment, suicidal tendency etc., are increasing among coaching students. Some main factors pertaining to coaching centres that are presenting unnecessary burden on students and parents are described below.
