In our culture, it is common to hear the phrase "the gospel of Jesus Christ." However, this can mean many things to many people. Because there are so many different churches, denominations, and groups who identify as Christian, this book clarifies how Jesus and the Apostles presented the gospel in the first place, that is, how it is revealed in the New Testament and how the first followers of Jesus would have understood his call. The gospel discussed in these pages is rooted in the Bible itself and avoids the trappings of distinctive theological or denominational perspectives. Why You Need (the real) Jesus is easily readable, yet, deep enough to give you a clear perspective of what the Bible actually means by the wonderful phrase, "the gospel of Jesus Christ." Edwin Cohea holds two undergraduate degrees from Grace Christian University in theology and missions. He also holds a graduate degree in New Testament theology from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary. He has served in various ministries over the last many decades. He and his lovely wife, Jeannette, and their menagerie of pets, live in western Michigan near the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan.
