When "The" Church Rides the Beast Unfolding a Rome Centered Mystery! With impassioned words Paul said, "Let no man deceive you," "That day [second coming] shall not come, except...that man of sin be revealed" (1 Thessalonians 2:3)! It is now the time to unmincingly affirm that the antichrist is personified in the head of the Roman Catholic Church. Its history alone cries out with sullen voices of arrogance: "Every cleric must obey the Pope, even if he commands what is evil; for no one may judge the Pope."- Pope Innocent III (1198-1216 A.D). Its code of laws conveys supreme power to the Pope: "The First See [Rome/papacy] is judged by no one. It is the right of the Roman Pontiff himself alone to judge...those who hold the highest civil office in a state."-Canon 1404. "There is neither appeal nor recourse against a decision or decree of the Roman Pontiff."-Canon 333-03. When Pope Benedict XVI was Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, he immortalized Rome's usurpation of God's place within the church by publishing Dominus Iesus (August 5, 2000). He noted that all non-Catholic Christian communities were either defective or not true churches. He pointedly said that salvation was available only through the Roman Catholic Church. Stunning was this declaration, leaving behind our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Paul noted that the "Man of sin" "exalteth himself," sitting in the "temple of God," working "with all deceivableness (II Thessalonians 2:3-10). Even the famed and much-quoted 19th century Baptist preacher Charles Spurgeon said: "It is the...duty of every Christian to pray against [the] Antichrist, and as to what antichrist is no sane man ought to raise a question. If it be not the Popery in the Church of Rome there is nothing in the world that can be called by that name."
