Sebastian Fitzek estudió Derecho, aunque nunca ha llegado a ejercer esta profesión. Ha trabajado en diferentes proyectos mediáticos, también como redactor jefe y director de programas en varias emisoras alemanas. En la actualidad, vive y trabaja en su ciudad natal en la dirección de programas de una emisora berlinesa. Su primer libro fue publicado por la editorial Bertelsmann y desde entonces todos sus libros han llegado a ser superventas en su país.
