Reseña del libro "The Bridge Re-Crossed"

A collection of autobiographical vignettes, with a thematic emphasis on the author returning to the country of his birth after a 45 year absence in the U.S.Also - in a separate section - a set of Christmas letters depicting the years after the author and his wife have returned to Hungary. Author_Bio: Adam von Dioszeghy was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1938. Having lived through the horrors of WWII, he and his mother suffered the unspeakable miseries of life under communism. Then the author (as a first year university student) participated in the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, being wounded twice. The defeat of the Revolution was followed by the escape of the author and his mother to the U.S. There - after years of trials and many menial jobs - the author graduated with a degree in American literature from Stanford University. As luck would have it, the Vietnam War sent the author to the Tonkin Gulf on the deck of a U.S. destroyer as an officer. Three tours of duty later, Stanford Law School followed, where the author received his Juris Doctorate degree in 1970. After teaching law and a stint as a prosecutor, he practiced law for 45 years in the San Francisco Bay Area. He returned to Hungary with his wife, Aliz, in 2000, where he is living in retirement. Keywords: Going Home, Hungary, Budapest, Hungarian Revolution, Communism
