Willard A. Palmer fue un destacado músico, educador y autor estadounidense, conocido principalmente por sus contribuciones al estudio y la enseñanza del piano. Nació en 1917 y dedicó gran parte de su vida a desarrollar métodos pedagógicos que facilitaran el aprendizaje musical tanto para niños como para adultos.

Junto con sus colegas Morton Manus y Amanda Vick Lethco, Palmer co-creó la famosa serie "Alfred’s Basic Piano Library", una de las colecciones más utilizadas en todo el mundo para la enseñanza del piano. Este método, publicado por Alfred Music, se caracteriza por su enfoque progresivo, accesible y bien estructurado, combinando técnica, teoría y repertorio de manera equilibrada.

Además de ser autor, Palmer fue un talentoso acordeonista y compositor.
