Es un escritor estadounidense conocido por su trilogía de fantasía Por encima de la oscuridad (Above the Black), que ha sido un éxito de ventas en The New York Times. Nacido en Salt Lake City, Utah, Gregson se graduó cum laude en la Universidad de Utah con una licenciatura en enseñanza de inglés .
