OBAMA - MASTER AND COMMANDER is the third volume in the trilogy of the Obama Saga featuring Barack Obama: Ready, Fit to Lead and Barack Obama: Master of Washington, DC. Now OBAMA: MASTER AND COMMANDER focuses on some developments in the dynamics of Republican challenge to Mr. Obama's Presidency. As such, the author has argued, sometime after the 2008 election and certainly by Inauguration Day, a group of high level Republican leaders met and resolved to sabotage Mr. Obama's Presidency. This treasonous behavior was publicly enunciated in Senator Mitch McConnell commitment "to make Barack Obama a one-term President." Thus, once this "McConnell Mandate" was laid down, all manner of Republican "minions vying to be whales" unleashed open-season disrespecting the man, his race as the first African American President and the Office of the Presidency of the United States. The assault against the President of the United States ranged from that of "You lie" Wilson; "Go for the Kill" Billy Krystal; "Waterloo" DeMint; "Poison the well" Rick Santorum; to "Gangster Government" Michele Bachmann; "Stupid" Senator Charles Grassley; and "Stupid" former Governor John Sununu. Not to be left out, Donald Trump and his "Birther" nonsense; Arizona's "Black Protester with Guns" and his "Pastor Anderson Praying for the death of Barack Obama" are only some of the outlandish and disrespectful tirades unleashed against President Obama. Threats to the life of Mr. Obama and his family have not gone unnoticed. However, intellectually and tactically superior to his opponents, Mr. Obama allowed these leaders in government and civil life to unload the deepest sentiments they held against him as a man who is Executive President of the United States, Commander-In-Chief and leader of the Western Alliance. Disarming them strategically with his infectious smile and quick thinking he simply dismissed them as "good ole boys" being "good ole boys!" Though he came around to admit, "Politics is a contact sport" and welcomed "Republicans playing hard!" However, OBAMA: MASTER AND COMMANDER delves beyond the politics of the "City on a Hill" to showcase its art, and architectural and Memorial magnificence. From the George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, World War I, World War II, Theodore Roosevelt, Korean War, Vietnam, the DC, and Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorials, to the stupendous artistic extravaganza of the Thomas Jefferson Building of the Library of Congress, as well as the Madison and Adams Buildings of that august Institutional repository, the Folger Shakespeare Library and architectural masterpiece of the Capital Building, the White House, Lafayette Park and images of Washington's beauty are all captured here easing the acerbic tone of DC's politics with the joy and beauty of the city's aesthetic wonderment.
