Joanne Lew-Vriethoff es una galardonada ilustradora de libros infantiles, nacida en Malasia y criada en Los Ángeles y Nueva York. Estudió ilustración en el ArtCenter College of Design en Pasadena y actualmente reside entre Ámsterdam y Malasia. Su estilo combina ternura y humor, abordando temas emocionales con sensibilidad y creatividad. Ha ilustrado más de 70 libros, incluyendo álbumes ilustrados, libros de capítulos y obras educativas.

Entre sus obras más destacadas se encuentran El hilo invisible (The Invisible String, 2000), La correa invisible (The Invisible Leash, 2019) y La telaraña invisible (The Invisible Web, 2020), todas en colaboración con Patrice Karst. También ha ilustrado Bonitas (Beautiful, 2016) y Valientes (Brave, 2017) junto a Stacy McAnulty. Su trabajo ha sido reconocido con premios como el Golden Kite Sid Fleischman Honor Award (2024) y el Nautilus Book Award (2019).
