The Large Quasar Group has a typical dimension of 500 Mpc and its longest dimension is a whopping 1200 Mpc - 1600 times the distance between our galaxy and its closest neighbor. To put it bluntly, it would take a spaceship travelling at the speed of light four thousand million years to get from one end of the cluster to the other. Experts have mentioned that the Large Quasar Group is a group of 73 quasars that stretches 1.6 billion light-years in most directions. As a matter of fact, the quasar group appears to violate a widely accepted assumption known as the cosmological principle, which holds that the universe is essentially homogeneous when viewed at a sufficiently large scale...
