Reseña del libro "I Ain't Poor (en Inglés)"
I Ain't Poor, a short novel, describes part of the life of John McIntyre (Summerville, South Carolina, 1990- ), a Presbyterian, successful self-satisfied insurance salesman, descendant of Scottish thanes (barons), proud of his social escalation, who since his adolescence has undertaken a relentless search for fame and fortune. His best friends, with whom he spends long periods in a Puerto Vallarta penthouse, are Norah Baxter (Newport, Oregon, 1993- ), a Brahmanist, marine biologist; Sheldon Evans, (Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 1992- ), a software developer, versed in mathematics; Sylvia Henriksen (Montgomery, Alabama, 1991- ), a progressive journalist.Jorge Carmona, "El Xónriks" (Guadalajara, 1971- ), an alcoholic and divorced guy, for a time he was a teacher of Chemistry and Biology at a high school in Guadalajara, and then an insurance salesman, a homologous to McIntyre. Carmona does not live in the McIntyre penthouse but frequents the latter's circle. They are all consumers of beer, tequila, and shrimp, they all smoke cigarettes. One day, Sylvia finds in the penthouse attic a box with somewhat strange papers for them, the Americans.Subsequently, one of the four American friends must necessarily move away from the other three.
