Ryan Gallagher, forty-five year old nationally known political commentator, badly wants to set up an interview with America's most famous actress. To do that he must first meet with her young assistant, Ashley Summerstone. The meeting, however, turns out to be the most unusual one he's ever had in his career. Ashley claims to be a faerie, and despite her wacky statements and nutty behavior he leaves the meeting fascinated by her. As time goes on his interest grows from being a simple "crush" to a devastating neurotic fixation to a complete psychotic breakdown and eventually to a state far beyond the bounds of imagination. This short book (about 27,000 words) uses a touch of humor, a touch of metaphysics, and a touch of philosophy to explore the power of imagination and its ability to create the world we live in.
