Replace Subject pronoun (he) with Object pronoun (him); C. Replace Verb 'Was' With 'To Be' -- I believed him to be a rival. Replace Subject pronoun (he) with Object pronoun (him); C. Replace Verb 'Is' With To Be We know him to be alive.
