Obadiah "Obie" Poff challenges the world around him in order to forge his way through the ebb and flow of life. He is thrown into a realm of corruption, drugs, and injustice in economically downtrodden Estep County located in Appalachia Kentucky. Obie begins his journey when his father is found dead under mysterious circumstances. The quest to find out what happened leads him into the dark entrails of the county with Creek Rock, methamphetamine, ravaging its people and local kingpins ruling with an iron fist. Sheriff Murphy confronts these criminal elements, while trying to keep Obie safe from the evil that stalks him. The bindings of fraternal love of his older brother Jeremiah, who was killed in Iraq, and romantic love for Mandy, daughter of a kingpin, strengthens Obie's resolve to solve the mystery of his father's death. In the end, Obie's courage and resolve is tested.
