On the 11th September 2001, two planes hit the World Trade towers killing hundreds of passengers on board. Most of the people on board those planes (as well as those on board the plane that flew into the Pentagon and the one which crashed into a field in Pennsylvania on the same day) were going about their daily lives as normal, but found themselves caught up in the midst of events so tragic and so hostile that not only did they lose their lives suddenly and catastrophically, but they became part of an event that is now the single most defining moment of modern Western civilization. For the very first time, a work of fiction will attempt to describe events leading up to the moment Flight 11 hit the North Tower at 8.46.am, through the eyes of the main character, Jack Dimagio. Jack innocently boarded one of those fated planes on that fated morning of 9/11. Jack is an ordinary man, like you and I, but once the extraordinary events of that day befell him, and fell upon his consciousness, his world was anything but ordinary. In this story, Jack Dimagio finds himself at Logan International Airport Boston, Massachusetts, and then, later, on board Boeing 767-223ER American Airlines Flight 11, which was scheduled to depart at 07:45 - but which actually took off 14 minutes behind schedule - bound for Los Angeles, California. This plane proceeded to take the most infamous detour in aviation history.
